Laura Oles entered the photo industry in 1992 not knowing the difference between an f/stop and a bus stop. Fortunately, she was a quick study and found the opportunity to help consumers make the most of their precious pictures to be a rewarding career.
A founding team member of Pixel Magic Imaging, she spent the next twelve years helping hundreds of independent photo businesses as well as several national chains evaluate and implement digital photography solutions. Laura left Pixel Magic Imaging in July 2005 to dedicate her time to helping busy women make the most of today’s technologies.
Laura is a contributing editor for Picture Business Magazine and serves as a columnist for Photo Induced, Clever Parents, and Clubmom. As an industry journalist, she covers business and technology issues for a variety of publications. Her first book, Digital Photography for Busy Women, was named a photography category finalist in USA Book News.com’s ‘Best Books 2006’ awards.
Laura believes that photo retailers can be the catalyst in turning a reticent digital camera owner into a passionate photographer and storyteller, and it is her goal to assist those retailers who seek to offer an exceptional experience.
As the mother of three small kids under the age of seven, she spends so much time running that she’s considered asking Nike® for an endorsement.
She is grateful her husband has a sense of humor.
